Daycare is available
Monday - Friday 7am - 6.30pm
Daycare is closed weekends and public holidays
All dogs that attend Little Urban Wolves must be:
Not all dogs are social butterflies, some dogs actually prefer to be at home on their own through the day. And this is perfectly fine!
We assess all new dogs to ensure they are suitable for our daycare environment and to also ensure daycare is actually something your dog wants to be a part of.
All new dogs go onto a trial period of 3 visits once they pass assessment to give them time to relax and ensure we didn't miss anything in their initial visit.
All new dogs to Little Urban Wolves are assessed to ensure basic commands are understood and there is no aggression towards other dogs or our staff.
We also assess how new dogs interact and play, to ensure they are able to read social cues from other dogs.
Due to the training program and free play elements of our facility, it is important that all dogs are able to follow instruction.
We understand that putting your pup in daycare is a new experience and one you may want to witness. Due to work health and safety, parents are not able to enter our daycare area. Pup's also act differently with parents around, which can make assessment difficult to carry out.
New assessments are carried out Tuesday to Friday.
We cap our assessments to two a day and ask that all dogs arrive between 8-9am to allow assessment to be carried out through our daily structure to allow us the best opportunity to observe and assess your dog.
Structured daycare is very similar to the daycare you'd send a human child to. Dogs have free play time, they also engage in training activities and tasks which engage their olfactory senses and create problem solving opportunities. We find a structured approach helps dogs develop healthier social and personal behaviours. We have also experienced a great response from shy, anxious and over excited dogs.
Yes. We have a general weight limit of 15kg. We have recently extended this to include dogs up to 25kg on a case by case basis. Dogs over 15kg must be small dog friendly, showing no guarding or reactive behaviours.
We do not accept working breeds of dogs at daycare. This includes Cattle dogs, kelpies, coolies and similar. We refer these dogs to more active programs that better suit their needs.
We accept EFTPOS, American Express, AfterPay and cash.
Yes. we find that the structured approach to daycare at Dogs on the Park is highly beneficial to dogs with various anxieties. Because their minds are engaged throughout the day, it can help minimise anxious behaviours and build confidence and resilience in anxious dogs. In Care training may be required to allow your dog to transition to daycare, this will be discussed at the end of your dogs initial consultation. We've had many clients comment on a decrease in anxious behaviours, creating a calmer more happy dog.
While you are welcome to use the services of other daycares, we do ask that this is avoided if possible. As our facility is highly sanitised and we work closely with dogs to monitor and support social behaviours, we cannot speak to other facilities. We do ask that you let us know if your dog is attending other daycare services.
Little Urban Wolves is an indoor temperature controlled facility. We have an outdoor courtyard area that dogs have free access to throughout the day.
Little Urban Wolves accommodates up to 35 dogs a day. We work to a ratio of 1 team member to 10 dogs.
